Yes, Watch Emma Watson Let Loose in the 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' Trailer

Chbosky not only adapted his novel for the screen, he's also taken on directing duties. The film originally received an R-rating for "teen alcohol and drug use, and some sexual references," but the rating was lowered to PG-13 after Chbosky and other filmmakers passionately appealed, saying that the severe rating would turn away the exact audience that the film was trying to reach.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower hits theaters on September 15. You can check out the trailer, which includes Emma Watson's character riding on the back of her truck in the iconic tunnel scene, below. Does it leave you feeling, as Charlie would put it, "infinite"?

The highly anticipated Perks of Being a Wallflower trailer has officially arrived.

Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, and Ezra Miller took the stage at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night to premiere the first look at the movie adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's much-beloved coming-of-age novel. Wallflower tells the story of Charlie (Lerman), a sensitive young man who is trying to navigate high school following the suicide of his best friend. After a rough start, he soon befriends Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Miller), a pair of misfit older teens who take him under wing.
