Lets Have a Look at 2012 MTV Movie Award Winners

2012 MTV Movie Award Winners
Check out which stars scored Golden Popcorn at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.

Popcorn Power
The MTV Movie Awards pick up where the Oscars leave off when it comes to the best movies of the year. The show features categories like Best Kiss, Best Fight, and Best On-Screen Dirtbag, adding a little excitement to the typical awards show. See which stars walked away with Golden Popcorn here.

1. Movie of the Year: 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1'
This year's awards heavily favored The Hunger Games, but it was Twilight that scored the top honor at the show. Breaking Dawn beat out the stiff competition for the night's biggest honor. Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, and Kristen Stewart took the stage to accept the honor. Bridesmaids, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, and The Help were the other nominees.

2. Best On-Screen Dirtbag: Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston was very proud of her win.

"I mean, do you know how long I have tried to have somebody let me unleash my on-screen dirtbag? A really long time," Aniston said while at the mic. "And thank God this category just popped up. So I would like to say 'thank you' to the television show Friends for letting me unleash the inner sweetheart and here's to [director] Seth Gordon for allowing me to be a dirtbag."

3. Best Male Performance: Josh Hutcherson
Looks like The Hunger Games is the new Twilight. Josh Hutcherson scored big time and told the crowd about his lifelong goal of winning a MTV Movie Award. "Oh, my god. I've wanted to hold a Golden Popcorn since I was like 4 years old. This is incredible," he said. "It's insane too, because every single one of those actors I admire and I want to be, so to even be up here is blowing my mind right now."

4. Best Female Performance: Jennifer Lawrence
No surprise here: Jennifer Lawrence took this category for her awesome portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. Unfortunately, the actress couldn't be there to accept the honor. She beat out Emma Watson, Emma Stone, Rooney Mara, and Kristen Wiig for the prize.

5. Trailblazer Award: Emma Stone
Emma Stone was the first ever recipient of the Trailblazer award. "What sets you apart can feel like a burden and it's not. A lot of the time it what makes you great," she wisely told the crowd. She cited John Candy, The Beatles, J.D. Salinger, and Cameron Crowe as her personal trailblazers.

6. Best Kiss: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart had to accept her Best Kiss award solo. Unfortunately, Robert Pattinson, her onscreen partner in crime and real life beau, had other obligations and couldn't make it. Fun fact: This is the fourth year in a row these two have taken this category.

7. Breakthrough Performance: Shailene Woodley
Shailene Woodley must be on cloud nine these days. She got to star in a movie with George Clooney and won her first MTV Movie Award for it. The actress didn't get the Oscar nod for her powerful performance, but the Golden Popcorn has to be a close second, right?

8. Best On-Screen Transformation: Elizabeth Banks
Elizabeth Banks walked away with Golden Popcorn during the show for her fabulously fashionable portrayal of Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games. The actress wore a very sexy, partly sheer black jumpsuit up to the podium and got some attention from three very hunky gentlemen.

9. Best Cast: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2
Emma Watson lit up the show in a gorgeous purple gown. She represented Daniel Radcliffe and the Harry Potter crew to accept the Best Cast honor. Hopefully the Golden Popcorn lives on her mantle.

10. Best Fight: Jennifer Lawrence & Josh Hutcherson vs. Alex Ludwig
Josh Hutcherson and Alexander Ludwig shared the mic while accepting their Best Fight honor. We couldn't help but notice the height disparity between the two stars while they traded jabs onstage.

11. Best Music Performance: LMFAO
The party rockers claimed victory at the MTV Movie Awards. The guys won for their performance in 21 Jump Street. Their award was handed out during a commercial break, so there was no party rockin' on TV. Bummer.

12. Best Comedic Performance: Melissa McCarthy
Melissa McCarthy scored a win for her role in Bridesmaids. She wasn't able to attend the festivities, but we're sure she's excited to add a Golden Popcorn statue to her collection.

13. Best Gut-Wrenching Performance: 'Bridesmaids'
Bridesmaids took home the gold for Gut-Wrenching Performance. Apparently the definition of "gut-wrenching" varies greatly, since the other films nominated in this category included The Help, 21 Jump Street, Drive, and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal.
