Saturday's performance was Dion's first since taking a break to recuperate from a vocal cord injury in February. It sounds like she's back in full force.
Celine Dion gets a lot of flack as the once and forever queen of Adult Contemporary, but she's really quite lovable once you realize she's got the spirit of the world's quirkiest karaoke champion. On Saturday the powerhouse vocalist treated her Las Vegas Caesar's Palace audience to a cover of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," smashing through the bluesy breakup anthem almost effortlessly.
Dion recently announced plans for an English-language album called Water and a Flame, revealing that the October release would include some of the songs she covers in her Las Vegas show in addition to new material. Canada's pride and joy didn't say whether Adele's smash hit would be featured, but confirmed a duet with Stevie Wonder on his song "Overjoyed."
