1. New Love
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes made their public debut as a couple back in April 2005. Rumor has it the actor called the former Dawson's Creek star out of the blue and invited her to a meeting at his office. They reportedly hit it off and Cruise eventually worked up the courage to ask her on a real date before she left. Their first official date reportedly entailed a flight on his private jet, a motorcycle ride, and a romantic beach trip.
2. So Marry Me
These two moved very fast. Cruise popped the question just two months after their big red carpet debut, on June 17, 2005. "Yes, I proposed to her. ... It was early this morning at the Eiffel Tower, so I haven't slept at all," he said at the time. "Today is a magnificent day for me, I'm engaged to a magnificent woman."
3. LOL
Here are Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes just a week before they jetted off to Paris and got engaged. The stars flashed their biggest smiles at the Batman Begins premiere, which was the first time she got to bring Cruise as her date to one of her own movie premieres. She celebrated the event in a plunging black dress.
4. Premiere Power
TomKat was front and center at the War of the Worlds premiere just a week after getting engaged. This red carpet appearance came exactly one month after Mr. Cruise jumped up and down all over Oprah's couches in an epic, infamous pronouncement of his love for the actress.

Cruise's son, Connor, carried his 7-month-old sister down the aisle in front of famous guests like Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey, Victoria Beckham, and more.

After honeymooning in the Maldives, TomKat resurfaced at the 2007 Academy Awards. The actor wasn't nominated that year but the couple certainly took home the unofficial prize for hottest couple of the evening. Fun Fact: Cruise hasn't received an Oscar nod since his 2000 role in Magnolia.

The couple spent the first year of their marriage traveling the world with baby Suri. Here's the stars on a jet ski in the Mediterranean in August 2007. Around this time, Cruise was dropped from Paramount Pictures, after 14 years, reportedly because the company decided the actor's behavior and views were damaging the company. Others say he was dropped because he had too big of a stake in Mission Impossible DVD sales.

While they weren't riding jet skis on exotic vacations, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes split their time between Hollywood and NYC. They also mingled with their famous friends like Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. Cruise introduced Mr. Smith to Scientology years back and they remain close friends.
